Arsenal and Manchester United are just two of many clubs that are pursuing Atlanta United forward Ezequiel Barco.

The forward is highly regarded by many and joined the MLS giant in 2018 from Independiente.

A childhood level player with Argentina was a standout celebrity for Atlanta. Inter, Roma and Sporting Lisbon are reported to be pursuing his signature, in addition to the Premier League clubs, based on TNT Sports.

Atlanta are believed to appreciate Barco at approximately £19m, only a fraction less than Newcastle paid them for Paraguay star Miguel Almiron.

The MLS outfit’s ambitious cost label for Barco is a manifestation of the trend of this club.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal are currently searching for reinforcements from the January transfer window and might watch Barco as a signing.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is much more distressed for midfield players together with Paul Pogba’s future up in the atmosphere.

The team failed to replace them, leaving Fred as central alternatives, together with the out of favour Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay after dropping Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini.

New Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is focusing largely on defenders in January but understands he wants to fortify elsewhere also.

Atlanta trainer Frank de Boer talked highly of Barco in which the participant stood out of the audience.

The Dutchman insisted that his participant was regarded by lots of the scouts in attendance.

And he joked he expected Barco wouldn’t be marketed following the championship due to his performances that were good.

De Boer praised Barco’s “excellent goal” from South Africa before showing his nephew, a scout for Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, who had assessed Barco and shared his evaluation.

De Boer wasn’t surprised by the talk of Barco transfer to Europe.

“You know and I know this championship, each scout from a major bar is there,” explained De Boer in May.

“I understand what my sister’s son explained. He was given the maximum score you can get by them. And I think that it’s also a fantastic thing. That is the doctrine too for Atlanta United.”
