The Monterrey left-back is now 31 and might welcome the opportunity to link up with the Manchester United and England legend in Florida.
Mexico international Miguel Layun admits he’d welcome the chance to play for David Beckham in Inter Miami, with the 31-year-old hoping to finish his career at Monterrey or at MLS.
The former Watford and Porto defender admits he is approaching the end of his playing days, and he’d like to continue at least an additional challenge before the day comes to hang up his boots.
In an ideal world, Layun says he would like to Get an offer from Manchester United and England legend Beckham to join him in Florida.
Layun stated in a Q&A on his Instagram account: “I Want to play Inter Miami because David Beckham is there. I’m his fan and I would like to meet him as a way to share with him”
It remains to be seen if this particular dream will come true. Layun has, nevertheless, already spread his wings to Europe, using a spell in Villarreal in addition to England and Portugal before returning to his origins.
He states he would be delighted to see out his playing days in his current environment, but could also watch himself working into a finish in MLS.
Layun included: “It scared me to consider retirement. I am 31, I will be 32 years old in June, and I am in the final stretch of my livelihood.
“I have really enjoyed my profession, but I’m not sure what I am going to do and I have always been a hard-headed about that, I always have in mind at which I wish to go and [not understanding what I’m going to do] caused me to worry.
“I Want to retire in Monterrey or at America. They are the only two places I would like to dream that I am going to retire, but I don’t know, possibly life still takes me to a different location.”
