Toronto FC selected midfielder Sam Cronin (Wake Forest) second overall at the 2009 MLS SuperDraft in St. Louis Thursday. The Reds drafted forward Scarborough native O'Brian White (Connecticut) as the fourth overall pick and Generation Adidas goalkeeper Stefan Frei was picked 13th. (University of California).

Toronto FC announced that the team's official website, www.torontofc.ca will be broadcasting the 2009 MLS SuperDraft exclusively in Canada via the website.
Reds draft and preseason update
With the 2009 MLS SuperDraft fast approaching, the Toronto FC coaching staff is going through their final preparations before Draft day on Thursday, January 15. The MLS SuperDraft will take place at the Saint Louis Convention Center in St.Louis, MO with ESPN2 airing the first hour live beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
Carver looking forward to combine
Toronto FC Coach John Carver headed to Fort Lauderdale on Friday for the start of the MLS Combine. It will be a new experience for Carver who didn't arrive in Toronto until after the SuperDraft last year.

Toronto FC announced that Prescott, Ontario native Michael Toshack has joined the club as Goalkeeper Coach. Toshack, heads back to his native Canada after three seasons in Major League Soccer with the Houston Dynamo.
Dunivant ready for preseason
Todd Dunivant has stepped up his training and continues to make good progress in his recovery from an ankle injury that kept him out of action last season. Dunivant was restricted to just nine MLS appearances for the Reds in 2008 and was ruled out from mid June. He is now back training at BMO Field and started running this week.

Toronto FC coach John Carver believes Nana Attakora has made big strides forward in the development of his game in the last year. Attakora has been named the Canadian U-20 Player of the Year for 2008, and Carver is pleased with the progress the defender has made.

Attakora gets U-20 award
Toronto FC announced Tuesday that defender Nana Attakora-Gyan has been named the recipient of the Canadian U-20 Player of the Year Award for the 2008 season.
