It’s been a long time coming for the New England Revolution, but they finally have a title. The franchise that failed four times previously (three MLS Cups, 1 U.S. Open Cup) now has a U.S. Open Cup trophy to add to the shelf.
New England defeated FC Dallas 3-2 on Wednesday night to claim the title in the final of the U.S. Open Cup. The star of the game for the Revolution was Pat Noonan, who scored the first New England goal and notched an assist the last two.
Following all of the scoring, the Revolution had to hold on for dear life during the closing 20 minutes which saw a furious comeback attempt by FC Dallas
