Too much Red Bull

Now we all know that too much Red Bull can lead to hyperactivity. It seems that was the case when the energy drink company's two professional soccer teams clashed in Austria.

The New York Red Bulls are currently on their preseason tour of Europe and played a "friendly" against the reserve team of Red Bull Salzburg in Sound of Music country on Monday. However, it soon became clear that there was little brotherly love between the two clubs and the game descended into a furious battle of tough tackles and dirty play.

Normally, the thought of a bunch of over-enthusiastic Austrian teenagers trying to prove a point to their club's American cousins by kicking and fouling might be quite amusing. But it quickly became no laughing matter for head coach Juan Carlos Osorio when promising winger Dane Richards was carried off the field with a right MCL sprain.

These reports from men on the spot Ives Galarcep and Jack Bell demonstrate the depth of the anger felt by the NYRB players. It is a fair bet Osorio will not be keen to return to the picturesque Alpine region next year.

The best bit is seeing Claudio Reyna, veteran of World Cups and countless international experience, flipping out with a comment that could have come straight from the playground. There could be no other choice for our TOTD.
