There’s only Juan happy striker
The biggest smile in New York this week surely belongs to Red Bulls forward Juan Pablo Angel. Er, except for the fact that he's back in Colombia enjoying the offseason, but you know what I mean.
Angel will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of Juan Carlos Osorio, who walked out on the Chicago Fire and is ready to turn up at the Meadowlands any day now.
Sure, Angel smacked in 20 goals last season, but the cracks in his relationship with former Red Bulls coach Bruce Arena were exposed during the New York's defeat to New England in the MLS conference semifinals.
The former Aston Villa striker likes the ball played on the ground with precise buildups. He should find that Osorio's style meets his taste.
As for Arena, he has made the rather pointless statement that he is interested in the vacant Scotland head coaching job. Which was nice of him.
Reports that Scottish FA officials are also considering Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Rod Stewart and Hakeem Olajuwon could not be verified, but Bruce Almighty should be situated somewhere near that group on the odds list.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
"I don't get nervous playing football, but you don't get to meet the Queen every day. I felt humbled" – Manchester United's Ryan Giggs after being awarded the OBE at Buckingham Palace.
