English Premier League rankings
THE TOP THREE
1. Arsenal – A new No. 1 in the rankings after the Gunners end Manchester City's unbeaten streak at home.
2. Manchester United – The champs drop one place after needing a late Carlos Tevez goal to rescue a point at Spurs.
3. Chelsea – A marginally better record than Man U over the past eight games (20 points versus 19), but they will be disappointed with a draw at Portsmouth.
THE BOTTOM THREE
18. Birmingham – Failing to beat Derby at home sees the Blues drop into the bottom three, in the table and in our rankings.
19. Reading – No sign of the crisis lifting. Six straight league defeats and a 2-0 home loss against Bolton are the sort of results that get a team relegated.
20. Derby – The Rams are still bottom, but there is hope. Well, there isn't. At least they got a point against slumping Manchester City.
TEAM RISING
Fulham – Thanks to a decent draw at Bolton, a superb win over Aston Villa and a productive transfer window, the Cottagers are out of our bottom three.
TEAM FALLING
Manchester City – Knocked out of the FA Cup by a balloon, suffered a transfer fiasco over Benjani and got outplayed at home by Arsenal.
