English Premier League rankings
THE TOP THREE
1. Manchester United – After falling a goal down to Arsenal, United's title dream was on a knife-edge, but the Red Devils fought back to win and now have one hand firmly on the Premiership trophy.
2. Liverpool – Fourth place is now surely in the bag after the Reds cruised against Blackburn. They might even overtake Arsenal and claim third at this rate.
3. Chelsea – Avram Grant's men sat and watched United extend its lead at the top. But the Blues could move level on points with back-to-back wins against Wigan and Everton on Monday and Thursday.
THE BOTTOM THREE
18. Bolton Wanderers – Still deep in trouble after seven defeats in their last nine, but a win over West Ham gives hope.
19. West Ham – Three straight defeats, six in the last eight, four points from the last 24. Think Alan Curbishley's mob are dreaming of their summer holidays?
20. Derby County – In case there was any doubt, a 6-0 home thumping by Villa confirms them as worst EPL team EVER.
TEAM RISING
Aston Villa – OK, it was only Derby. But a 6-0 road win is impressive in any standard of football. That win also followed a 4-0 thumping of Bolton.
TEAM FALLING
Reading – Having seemed safe a couple of weeks ago, a home loss to Fulham has the Royals right back in the relegation mix.
