A quick look at the MLS standings shows that the Eastern Conference has the upper hand when it comes to overall league play. Four teams in the East have at least 10 wins and the fifth-place New York Red Bulls have more points than every team in the West, save for the conference-leading Houston Dynamo.

The Chicago Fire went to Houston having won eight of the team's previous nine MLS matches but left with a disappointing 2-1 loss to the defending MLS Cup champion Houston Dynamo.

The Chicago Fire suffered only their second defeat in the team's last 10 matches in a 2-1 loss to Houston Dynamo at Robertson Stadium on Sunday evening.
Thanks to a well-balanced attack from the midfield and forward positions, and good goalkeeping from Pat Onstad, the Houston Dynamo did just enough to beat the Chicago Fire, 2-1, Sunday at Robertson Stadium.

The D.C. United reserves defeated the New York Red Bulls reserves 2-1 Sunday morning at the RFK Training Complex on the strength of two goals by Ryan Cordeiro.
The Kansas City Wizards' struggles on the road continued Saturday night as they dropped a 2-1 game to the San Jose Earthquakes. The Wizards have won just one of twelve contests away from the cozy confines of CommunityAmerica Ballpark this season.

The way Toronto FC coach John Carver saw it, his side played defense with a noose around their necks. And it was goalkeeper Greg Sutton of all people who forced the club to ultimately hang itself.

Atiba Harris can rest easy. After missing on two shots and watching his teammates fail on several other scoring opportunities, Harris bagged a late match-winner as Chivas USA beat Toronto FC 2-1 on Saturday.
Forgive the Columbus Crew if they are feeling a little confident these days. After all, the Black-and-Gold dispatched FC Dallas 2-1 for the second time in two weeks, giving them 40 points on the season, which places them atop the MLS Eastern Conference standings.
