It all paid off for Real Salt Lake's Kyle Brown on Saturday against the Colorado Rapids. Sure, Brown had started a couple of game for Real's first team before. He had even scored a goal for the team. But in no way does it compare to the game-winner Brown scored in the 30th minute of Real Salt Lake's 1-0 win against the Rapids at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
There were more than just a couple of Real Salt Lake players that had a point to prove to the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.
With Guillermo Barros Schelotto nursing a strained hamstring, Columbus' second-choice strikers came up big on Saturday at BMO Field.
The Columbus Crew came storming back to put an end to their seven-game winless streak and also pull themselves right back into the MLS playoff picture, grabbing a 2-1 victory against Toronto FC on Saturday afternoon at BMO Field.
Mathematically, Real Salt Lake still can make it into the MLS Cup Playoffs this season. But realistically, RSL has never won more than two consecutive games, so a five-game winning streak to end the season likely won't happen.

Two teams in dire straits of late come together at BMO Field with their seasons on the line when Toronto FC host the Columbus Crew Saturday.
On Wednesday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium, RSL struck back with a goal from Javier Morales and earned a 2-2 tie against the Los Angeles Galaxy. It was the kind of result that shows the kind of improvements Real have made this year.
Real Salt Lake outplayed the Los Angeles Galaxy through the first 70 minutes Wednesday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium, but when the rollercoaster ride of the final 20 minutes ended, the teams had to settle for a 2-2 tie.

For Real Salt Lake and the Los Angeles Galaxy, sitting at the foot of the Western Conference, any more lost points will likely mean an end to any hopes they harbor of reaching the MLS Cup Playoffs.
