The Los Angeles Galaxy kept their playoff dreams alive -- and the Columbus Crew saw theirs dealt another blow -- as the Galaxy answered an early Columbus goal with two quick ones of their own and held on for a 2-1 victory Sunday afternoon at Crew Stadium.

After taking the lead on a magnificent free kick by Carl Robinson in the 14th minute, Toronto FC yield four goals in the second half to fritter away a lead and waste one of their best performances of the year in the first half.

After going 824 minutes without a goal, Toronto FC has now scored first in their last two matches, but could not hold either lead. That cost the Reds last week vs. the Columbus Crew, and again on Saturday in a loss to league-leading D.C. United 4-1 on TFC's first ever visit to RFK stadium.
Real Salt Lake just can't catch a break. Even though they played a good road game and found the net twice against the Red Bulls at Giants Stadium on Saturday night, a controversial late penalty kick call forced them to settle for a 2-2 tie.
Twice Real Salt Lake led the New York Red Bulls on Saturday night at Giants Stadium, but twice the home team fought back, eventually earning a 2-2 tie and eliminating RSL from playoff contention for a third consecutive year.

A massive clash in the battle for the final spots in the MLS Cup Playoffs looms on Sunday as the Los Angeles Galaxy continue their road show, this time making their lone trip of the year to Crew Stadium to take on the Columbus Crew.
David Beckham just can’t seem to stay out of the news. Every time it looks like the Galaxy midfielder might be cast to the sidelines of media attention, something new pops up. This time, it’s much more serious for the English star.
The Associated Press reported Friday that Beckham’s father was hospitalized in London after falling victim to his first heart attack. Apparently, the elder Beckham suffered the condition late Wednesday.

The New York Red Bulls remain home for a second consecutive week with a chance to secure their spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs as they take on Real Salt Lake at Giants Stadium.

Though the top spots are mostly set for the upcoming MLS Cup playoffs, there are some very interesting battles brewing on the bottom end of the standings. For the first time in a few years, there is an actual race to be had for the final position.
After a particularly disappointing season that has seen the Los Angeles Galaxy shell out big bucks for David Beckham, but still remain in last place, there seem to be some major changes on the way for both the marquee player and the organization.
Team president Alexi Lalas indicated to media this week that the club plans to take a harder stand in making some fundamental changes over the next few months. Among those changes appears to be a change in the evaluation of English star David Beckham.
